One of the staples of futuristic technology is its independence of screens and now we’re one step closer to that future. The Sony Xperia Touch is a projector/Android tablet hybrid that can project a touchscreen onto any flat surface, vertical or horizontal. That means you can play touch driven games on a table, then move the Xperia to a wall to work with a more traditional PC setup. The system comes with a 10-point enabled touch sensitivity, meaning you’ll be able to use any and as many of your own personal fingers as you’d like. The projector functions at a 1366 x 768 resolution, a far cry from the 4K that’s quickly becoming the norm, but for everyday use, it should be more than enough. A built-in battery-life of about an hour makes the Xperia portable, though that functionality is probably more aimed at rooms in a house, not laptop level portability. It’s a little difficult to nail down exactly who this is marketed towards, as it’s not powerful enough to replace a desktop and not portable enough to replace a laptop or tablet, but if this is a sign of tech to come, we’ll support it.
