As the war between laptops and tablets rages on, we may finally have a glimpse at how the whole thing will end, and it comes from Microsoft. The Microsoft Surface Book, simply put, is the best of both worlds and then some. At its most basic, it’s a powerful, full laptop designed with enough power to satisfy the creative types who tend to stick with Apple. Detach the screen portion and you have a tablet with a 13.5″ display, which works with OneNote and the Surface Pen. The most unique aspect, however, is seen when you reattach the tablet and allow the funky hinge to flip the screen into creative canvas mode. From there you can sketch and draw away and have your keyboard just a flip away. You’ll have access to all of Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and a lot of the other software you’re already familiar with, but you’re granted all sorts of new freedom and ways to use it.
