We’ve covered a lot of great everyday carry Kickstarter pens over the years that have featured bolt action mechanism and springy pocket clips. The Machine Era Field Pen is the first we’ve seen that combines both those features into a single, fluid mechanism that’s easy and fun to use. After more than a year of prototyping and testing, Machine Era got the silky smooth action they wanted in the bolt action clip just right, and now they’re ready to deliver their latest and greatest to all the EDC pen nuts out there. Each pen is completely machined from a piece of solid stock material using Swiss-type turning techniques that are accurate to a tenth of a thousandth of an inch and create a phenomenal finish. The body of the pen is made of solid brass, solid stainless or stainless with a black diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating, and the clip is fully machined from aircraft grade aluminum. Machine Era has already crushed their funding goal and estimates delivery of the pens in the next few months.
