No athlete reaches his ultimate potential alone. There are coaches, family members, friends, and training partners that all play a part in that journey. With that in mind, Philippe Starck went ahead and designed a medal that any victorious Olympian could share with those most important to him. Each can be separated into four separate medals so an athlete can choose the three most important people to gift a piece to. The design could be implemented should Paris win the rights to either the 2024 or 2028 games. Starck, who designed the flame for the 1992 Winter Olympics, notes that “defeats and victories are collective,” and we think the design is a clever way in showing appreciation to those that helped hoist you to the podium.
